WHERE Abbi sandweiss IS FROM
I am from 30 seconds in the microwave Moon Pies split in half, one half for my dad and the remaining half to share with my twin, from Waffle House cheesy eggs and raison toast every Sunday morning and Sam’s club shopping trips every Sunday afternoon.
I am from the home of the Royals and the Chiefs and from friends and family relationships that will last me a lifetime. I am from 213 Camelot Drive where I imagined living my entire life, from catching fire flies in the summer to bundling up and sledding in the winter.
I am from the beautiful irises in my backyard, where my mom would spend hours of free time gardening. From wishing I could still admire that wonderful garden today.
I am from going to the dollar store with my dad and being able to pick out just one toy or on lucky days two or three, from wanting everything that my twin got and therefore getting stuck with hermit crabs, a bird, and a rabbit that I never even wanted.
I am from my twenty-one years older than me sister who has changed my life and taken care of me after losing both of my parents years ago and my sweet twin sister who has been there with me and for me through it all.
From “greeeeeeeeen gatorade” and “stop fighting with your sister”.
I am from celebrating Hanukkah with my dads side in St. Louis and Christmas with my moms side in Sedalia and often getting asked, “Do you get presents for both holidays?” From dreidel, dreidel, dreidel to let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
I'm from Germany and England, and from my moms twice baked potatoes that are the best in the entire world and family BBQ cookouts at Clayview, our country club pool.
From the numerous trips to the Lake of the Ozark’s with the Sandweiss family, the endless amounts of candy and sugar my Aunt Ellen secretly snuck to us behind my dads back and the many tubing trips and hours spent fishing off the dock.
I am from boxes in the basement filled to the top after moving into my sisters house and from scrapbooks my oldest sister has spent so much time creating for me.
I am from sisters, nephews, a brother-in-law, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. From where I gain respect, strength, love, and courage.
