Unit 2-relationships
POPPLET - GROUP 2

- This studio lesson relates to relationships because it was used to create relationships between art materials and connections to the artist and their lives. I decided to print a picture of my sister and I to use to help describe our relations. I wanted to use styrofoam to show a subtraction relationship on a quote me and my sister love, but it did not work out. It was extremely frustrating that my art would not turn out how I wanted, although, it did show the relationship between my sister and I. In order to fix the quote, I am going to have add another medium like the ink paint to make the words readable. The relationship between my supplies also helps make interesting visuals on my finished piece.
- I will employ visual art integration utilizing this studio lesson in my classroom by relating it to a science lesson. Students could identify relationships between animals, plants, or cells, for example and then using these connections and relationships to create their project. Students could show the relationship between cats and dogs and use different supplies and mediums in order to portray their relation to each other.

- This studio lesson relates to the relationships because it shows the relationship I have to my home and my memories that I have obtained from there. I chose to create my sorority house that I lived in my sophomore year of college. I created many memories and friendships/relationships there that will last me a lifetime. Living there played a very important affect on my life and my future.
- I will employ this visual art integration lesson in my classroom by integrating with social studies and community building. This lesson could teach that everyone comes from different places and that no two students grew up in the exact same community or house. In social studies this semester we are learning a lot about social justice, and I really see this art lesson integrating with this subject and being able to share uniqueness about each individual student.
